Singomedia
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 26 October 2026
1. Who we are
Singomedia ("we", "us") is a software studio based in Johannesburg, South Africa. This policy explains how we handle personal information in our mobile applications and on singomedia.co.za.
It applies to these apps:
- Mzansi Word Connect
- Mzansi Word Search
- Mzansi Word Brain
- Kasijoints
- Kasitaal Puzzles Hub
- TFM Clubzone
We process personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) and, where it applies to users in the European Union or United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you give us
- Account details — if you sign in, your email address and the display name your provider shares.
- Support messages — whatever you include when you contact us, so we can answer you.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Device identifiers — a resettable advertising identifier and an app-install identifier, used by our advertising and analytics partners. You can reset or limit these in your device settings.
- Usage data — which screens and features you use, session length, and in-app events such as a level being started or completed. This is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.
- Crash logs and diagnostics — the device model, operating system version, app version and a stack trace when something fails.
- Approximate location — only where an app feature or an advertising partner requests it, and derived from IP address or coarse network location. We do not request precise GPS location.
- Purchase records — the product bought, the amount, the currency and the Google Play order identifier. We never receive or store your card details.
3. Third-party services
We use established Google services to keep the apps free and stable. These providers process data under their own privacy policies:
Google AdMob (advertising)
AdMob serves the ads shown in our free apps. It may use your advertising identifier and approximate location to select and measure ads. Where required by law, we ask for consent before personalised advertising is shown, and you can decline without losing access to the app.
Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics
Firebase Analytics records aggregated usage so we can see which features are used, and Crashlytics records crash reports so we can fix defects. Both are configured without collecting your name or email address.
Google Play Services
Sign-in, in-app purchases, licensing and app updates are provided by Google Play Services, which processes data under Google's privacy policy.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with data brokers. We disclose information only to the processors above, or where the law requires it.
4. In-app purchases
Some apps sell virtual items such as coin packs, hints or level unlocks. All transactions are processed by Google Play Billing. We receive confirmation that a purchase completed and an order identifier; we never see your payment card, bank details or billing address. Refunds are handled under Google Play's refund policy.
Virtual items are licensed to your account for use inside the app. They have no cash value, cannot be transferred, and cannot be exchanged for money.
5. How we use information
- To run the apps and deliver the features you use.
- To show advertising that keeps the free versions free.
- To understand which features matter and improve them.
- To diagnose crashes and fix defects.
- To process purchases and provide support.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
Our lawful bases under the GDPR are consent (personalised advertising where required), legitimate interests (security, analytics, product improvement) and contract (delivering what you purchased).
6. Your rights
Under POPIA and the GDPR you may ask to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive a copy in a portable format. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@singomedia.co.za and we will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to verify your identity first.
You can also opt out of personalised advertising at any time in your device settings (Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID), and you may uninstall an app to stop all further collection by it.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa (inforeg.org.za) or, if you are in the EU/UK, to your local supervisory authority.
7. Children
Our apps are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. How long we keep information
- Analytics and crash data: up to 14 months, then aggregated or deleted.
- Support correspondence: up to 3 years after the issue is resolved.
- Purchase records: 5 years, to satisfy tax and accounting law.
9. Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Access to production systems is restricted to the operator account and protected by multi-factor authentication. No system is perfectly secure, but we take these steps to protect what we hold.
10. International transfers
Some of our providers store data outside South Africa, including in the European Union and the United States. Where data leaves South Africa we rely on the provider's standard contractual clauses and equivalent safeguards, as required by POPIA section 72 and the GDPR.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the apps change. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised, and material changes will be announced in the app.
